ST. GEORGE Utah a man is dead and a woman is injured after being hit by a car Monday while walking down a sidewalk in St. George. Police responded to a traffic accident Monday shortly after 9 a.m. A vehicle headed southbound on Dixie Drive had rear-ended another southbound vehicle, causing the front vehicle to veer off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a husband and wife who were walking on the sidewalk who were later identified as David and Leslee Henson, according to the St. George Police Department.
David Henson, 56, was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center via helicopter and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Leslee Henson, also 56, was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, and was later transferred to Salt Lake City for treatment. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
